Ingredients
250g Boneless Chicken, cut into bite-size pieces
1 large (150g) potato, cut into slightly thick slices
For the marinade
¾ tsp salt
½ tsp ground pepper
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp chilli powder
½ tsp garam masala
1 tsp crushed garlic
1 tsp crushed ginger
1 small onion finely chopped
3 tbsp chopped coriander
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
Other ingredients
2 tbsp oil + 1 tbsp oil
3 green chillies finely chopped
1 tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp salt
2 tsp finely chopped garlic
2 tsp finely chopped ginger
3 medium size onions chopped, thick slices
2 -3 tsp lime juice
Chopped coriander
Procedure
- Marinate the chicken pieces for 30 minutes
- Put the potato wedges into a bowl of water.
- Heat 2 tbsp oil on a medium flame. Add the green chillies, and cumin seeds, and sauté these for a few seconds and then add the marinated chicken. Sauté the chicken for 2 minutes on medium heat. Then cover and cook it for 5 minutes on low heat. Rinse the bowl in which the chicken was marinated with 2 tbsp of water and add this to the chicken. Stir the chicken and cover and cook it for 5 minutes more till it is fully cooked. Remove it to a plate.
- To the same pan, add 1 tbsp oil. Add the potatoes and sauté them for 3 to 4 minutes. Add the salt. Add the chopped garlic and ginger. Fry them some more. Toss till the potatoes are done.
- Add the sliced onions and cook till they soften a little.
- Then, add the fried chicken. Mix everything. Add the lemon juice and mix again. Taste for salt. Then add chopped coriander.
