This tasty dish needs hardly any cooking and requires no special techniques that you&#8217;ll have to practise till you get them right either. Read on to discover how you could make delicious Dabelis at home in minutes.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mKY7nqNn25s\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>6 pav\/pull-part bread rolls<\/p>\n<p>2 tbsp butter<\/p>\n<p><em>Stuffing:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>4 &#8211; 5 medium size potatoes (roughly crushed)<\/p>\n<p>2 \u00bd tbsp Dabeli masala<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp ground cumin<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp turmeric powder<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp Kashmiri chili powder<\/p>\n<p>\u2153 cup water<\/p>\n<p>\u2153 cup (approx.) date and tamarind chutney<\/p>\n<p>\u00bc cup coriander-mint chutney<\/p>\n<p>\u00be cup finely chopped onion<\/p>\n<p>\u00be cup fresh pomegranate seeds<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup masala peanuts (spiced peanuts)<\/p>\n<p>3 &#8211; 4 tbsp grated fresh coconut<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup fine sev<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup chopped coriander<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp salt<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp sugar<\/p>\n<p>2 tbsp pure ghee<\/p>\n<p><em>Dabeli Masala:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>1 tbsp garam masala<\/p>\n<p>1 tbsp dhania-jeera (coriander-cumin) powder<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp chaat masala<\/p>\n<p><em>Date and Tamarind Chutney:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>50g tamarind (de-seeded)<\/p>\n<p>75g dates (de-seeded)<\/p>\n<p>\u00bc cup jaggery or sugar<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp ground cumin<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp chilli powder<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp rock salt<\/p>\n<p>Soak the tamarind and dates each in \u00be cup of water. Transfer both along with the other four ingredients into a vessel and cook for around 20 minutes on a stovetop or 5 minutes in a pressure cooker. Puree the mix and strain it. Adjust the consistency to that of a thick sauce, bring it to a boil, and then store it in the refrigerator.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-355\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/veenapatwardhan.com\/pat-a-cake\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Kutchi-Dabeli-Stuffing.png?resize=500%2C400&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"kutchi dabeli stuffing\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/veenapatwardhan.com\/pat-a-cake\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Kutchi-Dabeli-Stuffing.png?w=500&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/veenapatwardhan.com\/pat-a-cake\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Kutchi-Dabeli-Stuffing.png?resize=300%2C240&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Procedure<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Heat the ghee in a pan and saut\u00e9 the crushed potatoes.<\/li>\n<li>Push these to one side and then add the Dabeli masala (or the four spices mentioned above) to the ghee and saut\u00e9 this for a few seconds before mixing it into the potatoes.<\/li>\n<li>Mix in the turmeric powder and ground cumin and then 3 tbsp of the date and tamarind chutney. Add \u00bd tsp of salt and 1 tsp of sugar to the mix.<\/li>\n<li>Pour in 1\/3 cup of water and stir everything well. Heat it for a minute or two till the extra water evaporates and you have a soft and moist potato mix. Adjust the taste for more salt, sugar, or chilli powder.<\/li>\n<li>Press the flavourful stuffing into a shallow dish and let it cool to room temperature.<\/li>\n<li>Now sprinkle the toppings, one by one, on the potato stuffing \u2013 the chopped onions, grated coconut, masala peanuts, pomegranate seeds, chopped coriander, and the fine sev.<\/li>\n<li>Slice each bread roll or pav, but let the two halves remain attached. Apply the coriander-cumin chutney to one half and the date and tamarind chutney to the other.<\/li>\n<li>Add a generous scoop of the stuffing on the lower half of the bread and press the two halves together.
