This delicious goan chicken curry with coconut milk is made with regular kitchen spices, no addition of special ingredients is required and it doesn&#8217;t involve any grinding either. Also, unlike in the case of my fragrant <a href=\"https:\/\/veenapatwardhan.com\/pat-a-cake\/2021\/06\/05\/fragrantgoanchickenxacuti\/\">Goan Chicken Xacuti Recipe<\/a>, you won&#8217;t have to first dry roast all the spices and the grated coconut. In fact, you&#8217;ll be amazed that a chicken curry that can be made so quickly could be this tasty.<\/p>\n<p>This is definitely a chicken curry you&#8217;ll want to make often. Believe me, everyone will want more of it. So do make this fragrant, creamy chicken curry with potatoes in your own kitchen soon and please share the link with your family and friends.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8_6wl8dJb4g?si=6LGpuLZIpYFDHBPn\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>Marination<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Chicken with bones 900g (2 lbs)<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp salt<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp turmeric powder<\/p>\n<p>2 tsp crushed ginger<\/p>\n<p>2 tsp crushed garlic<\/p>\n<p>2 tbsp lime juice<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Curry<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00bc cup + 2 tbsp oil<\/p>\n<p>3 medium size potatoes (350g)<\/p>\n<p>8 cloves<\/p>\n<p>3 small cinnamon sticks<\/p>\n<p>12 peppercorns<\/p>\n<p>5 green cardamoms<\/p>\n<p>1 \u00bc cup finely chopped onion<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp cumin seeds<\/p>\n<p>\u00be cup finely chopped tomato<\/p>\n<p>2 tsp crushed garlic<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp salt, approx.<\/p>\n<p>2 tsp coriander-cumin powder<\/p>\n<p>1 tbsp chilli powder<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder<\/p>\n<p>\u00be cup coconut milk<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp garam masala<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp nutmeg powder<\/p>\n<p>1 tbsp butter<\/p>\n<p>Chopped coriander<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1059\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/veenapatwardhan.com\/pat-a-cake\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Goan-Chicken-Curry-With-Coconut-Milk.jpg?resize=500%2C400&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Goan Chicken Curry With Coconut Milk\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/veenapatwardhan.com\/pat-a-cake\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Goan-Chicken-Curry-With-Coconut-Milk.jpg?w=500&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/veenapatwardhan.com\/pat-a-cake\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Goan-Chicken-Curry-With-Coconut-Milk.jpg?resize=300%2C240&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Procedure<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Wash the chicken and then marinate it with the salt, crushed ginger, crushed garlic, turmeric powder, and lime juice for around 45 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Peel and wash the potatoes and cut them into halves.<\/li>\n<li>Heat the oil. Add the potatoes and saut\u00e9 them for around 3-4 minutes. Remove to a plate.<\/li>\n<li>To the hot oil, add the whole spices \u2013 cloves, cinnamon, peppercorns., green cardamom and saut\u00e9 these for a minute. Add the chopped onion and saut\u00e9 this till it browns. Add the cumin seeds and then the chopped tomato and continue saut\u00e9ing the mix till the tomato softens.<\/li>\n<li>Add the remaining 2 tsp crushed garlic and saut\u00e9 this for a few seconds. And then add the marinated chicken. Saut\u00e9 the chicken on medium-high heat for 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add 1 \u00bc cup water, \u00bd tsp salt, the coriander-cumin powder, and the two kinds of chilli powder. Stir everything. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the pot and cook the chicken for around 15 minutes. Check it in between and add some more water if necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Add the potatoes. Add approx. \u00bd &#8211; \u00be cup water and cover and cook the chicken and potatoes for around 6 \u2013 7 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add the coconut milk, garam masala, nutmeg powder.
