Ah! The power of words… During the course of my two-decade long ‘freelance writer’ career I’ve been wielding my pen like a sword contributing articles to national, international and online publications. Reflecting my dual background in science and literature, my areas of expertise extend from technical and science writing to travel writing.
As a science journalist and Special Correspondent for the Chemical Industry Digest, a pioneering chemical and engineering monthly in India, I’ve penned over a hundred articles, mainly country, corporate, and personality profiles and chemical industry-related feature stories ranging from scientific discoveries to technological developments.
As a freelance writer based in Mumbai, some of the other publications I’ve written for include national magazines such as Femina, Woman’s Era, Let’s Travel, Youth Incorporated, On Guard, and Parmal; newspapers such as LiveMint, Hindu Business Line, The Herald, Deccan Herald, The Telegraph, and Mumbai Mirror; international publications such as Next Step (both US and Canadian editions), India Currents (USA); and web publications such as Funds for Writers. The topics I usually cover include travel, food, health, parenting, education, environmental issues, and human interest stories. But I welcome the opportunity to take on newer topics.
Since the last two years, I have also provided web content for websites on subjects ranging from travel and food to healthcare services.
Copyediting
As the Assistant Editor of Let’s Travel magazine, I’ve edited more than a hundred articles besides shouldering other responsibilities.
I also do substantive editing of documents including scientific and technical matter, for corporate clients, NGOs and individuals. Some of the clients for whom I have provided copyediting services include Datamatics Ltd., Chemical Industry Digest, and Novartis Comprehensive Leprosy Care Association.
